About Side Stage Tour:
At Side Stage Tour, we provide a compassionate community for spouses of touring musicians to share experiences, find solace, and build lasting connections no matter where you live. We are currently in the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with exciting plans to expand our impact and reach.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a warm, reliable, and community-minded volunteer to serve as Community Moderator for our online space. The moderator will play a key role in cultivating meaningful connections, supporting member engagement, and maintaining the safe, supportive tone that defines Side Stage Tour. This role focuses on nurturing daily interactions in our Discord community and helping members feel seen, valued, and connected.
Responsibilities:
Welcome new members personally and help them feel oriented to the community.
Encourage introductions by posting gentle reminders for new members to complete our welcome questionnaire.
Keep conversations active and inclusive by engaging with ongoing discussions and posting follow-up questions.
Schedule and post Discord prompts twice per week (content will be provided).
Remind members periodically that Side Stage Tour is a safe and supportive space for all.
Create and promote monthly virtual events or casual meet-ups (with guidance from the SST team).
Collaborate with the SST team to brainstorm ways to increase connection and participation.
Notify the SST team of any community concerns or members who may need extra support.
Uphold the tone, boundaries, and values of empathy, privacy, and connection that guide Side Stage Tour.
Qualifications:
Passion for the mission and vision of Side Stage Tour.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience with or interest in community engagement, moderation, or event coordination (Discord familiarity a plus).
Warm, empathetic personality with a natural ability to make others feel welcome.
Ability to dedicate 3–5 hours per week to community engagement and light event coordination.
